Patrick Bateman, a student in the Katz IS Doctoral Program, was selected to attend the ICIS 2007 Doctoral Consortium.

A short paper based on Patrick's disseration (entitled "Patrick's dissertation, entitled "Understanding Participation in Online Communities Through Multiple Theoretical Lenses”) was selected from the applicant for the consortium. With 83 nominees from around the world competing for the 40 available slots, the competition was significant. Each proposal was reviewed by two of the eleven consortium faculty. At the end, the proposals and their reviews were examined again by the co-chairs of the consortium.
