Faculty
From Information Systems at Pitt Business
The Pitt Business IS community includes a strong, internationally recognized research faculty that regularly publishes in top journals (13 publications in top-rated scholarly journals in 2004-2006), has or is serving in a range of key editorial and leadership positions (ISR Editor-in-Chief, Senior Editors, and Associate Editors; MIS Quarterly Associate Editors and Senior Editors), and receives grants from a variety of corporate and governmental sources (e.g. Microsoft, NSF, NIH). The strength of the IS research faculty is reflected in in both external and internal evaluations of research productivity and reputation. The reputation, expertise, and work of these faculty members is one of the serves to distinguish Katz/CBA IS offerings from those of our regional, national, and international competitors.
The Pitt Business IS faculty also includes active professionals who, in addition to achieving recognition in their field, also take time to contribute to the Pitt Business IS community by providing courses in their specialities. In this way they create opportunities for student and colleagues to benefit from their knowledge, experience, and skills while having direct impact on their firms and communities through their day-to-day professional activities.
